The new housing interior of Gemeente Bloemendaal has, to a great extent, been accommodated by Ahrend with focus on ergonomics, sustainability and flexibility.

Gemeente Bloemendaal

Back in 2009, the unification of the municipalities of Bloemendaal and Bennebroek was set in motion. The new town hall of Gemeente Bloemendaal now embodies the villages of Bloemendaal, Overveen, Aerdenhout, Vogelenzang and Bennebroek. Bundled together on one physical location, with one image and one identity.

The assignment

To create a transparent working environment that enhances the communication and teamwork among its users. The new interior design of the conference rooms, consultation places, lounge spots and the reception room had to be made to encourage flexible usage. The new decoration also had to comply to the sustainability policy of Gemeente Bloemendaal. All used products and materials live up to the ambitious circular vision of Gemeente Bloemendaal.

The solution

Ahrend has come up with several different interior solutions in order to maintain the character of the building and at the same guaranteeing an effective communication workflow. Among the solutions were: advice on ergonomics, circular interior solutions and flexible workplaces. These solutions are translated through the accommodation of the conference rooms, various low seating units and all the chairs. All these solutions contribute to the final result, which compliments the monumental ambiance of the city hall.

"One location, one image, one identity."
