City Hall Utrecht

The new City Hall Utrecht is located at the Jaarbeurs square, it has a total area of 65,000 square metres and houses 3,000 employees.

The assignment

Combining fifteen different work locations into one office was the main objective for this project. The work area of the new office had to meet the ambitions in the field of collaboration, sustainability and accessibility.

The solution

With an interior design that is fully in line with Activity Based Working, every square metre can be used more efficiently. The design of the working environment is aimed at collaborative working, informal meetings and finding each other quickly. The building is multifunctional and is accessible both to employees and to the public.

"The amount of square metres is used more effectively and leads to more dynamism; a working environment where fun and productivity go hand in hand!"
Maaike Wilmink, Teamleader Hospitality, Facility & Housing City of Utrecht
