Carmel College Raalte

Since 2012, the educational concept has developed from a traditional structure to a new team structure with five domains which are based on the different variants of the secondary educational system. This has been fully applied to the interior design.

The assignment

Carmel College and the architect knew exactly what they wanted; an interior design based on the education vision which was based on the different activities of students, teachers and staff.

The solution

Ahrend specially developed chairs and tables for the classrooms which are normally found within higher education. Because of the new educational concept, generally teachers  no longer have their own desk. The teacher has a round table with sit/stand functionality which is also moveable. This table also offers input possibilities for digital devices so the digiboards and whiteboards can be operated.
