Festool
Festool makes tools for professional tradespeople and advanced DIYers. Their products are appreciated by those who work with wood as well as by painters, varnishers and restorers. When you buy a Festool product, you can be confident that it is part of a comprehensively thought-out system. This also holds true for the new space that we helped the company build at its headquarters in Česká Lípa.
A well devised system
When you buy a Festool product, you can be confident that it is part of a comprehensively thought-out system. This also holds true for the new space that we helped the company build at its headquarters in Česká Lípa. As soon as you open the door and step inside, you will find yourself in a man's paradise. Architect Ing. Matěj Kosík from the Červený klobouk studio designed the entire space for developers as a workshop. Although there are elements of an open space, the workplace definitely does not feel like an office environment. On the contrary, you feel as if you had come here to create rather than to work.
A hallway full of character
The furnishings in the hallway symbolise austere elegance. Modular cabinets - lockers - optically separate the hallway from unassigned personal workspaces. They have a smooth surface, can be opened with a chip and are used to store personal items or office supplies. There are precisely thirty-two of them, matching the number of workstations. Seat balls covered with suede in a neutral grey shade fulfil an aesthetic and practical function. Opposite the kitchen, where ideas are cooked, there are four flex booths, which face each other in mirror image. At the far end of the hallway you will once again find an acoustically-soundproofed meeting room with a projector.
Just as a violinist has a violin and a painter has a palette, a craftsman must have a tool that fits perfectly in his hand. In order for do-it-yourselfers to be able to rely 100% on their tools, the designers at Festool strive to exceed perfection.
A kitchen of ideas
The kitchen is always the spot where the whole family gathers together. This is no different for the development brains at Festfool, particularly as this sympathetic space fulfils three functions: it serves as a dining area, a workshop corner and a relaxation zone. Not that power tools are in the air here, but they are talked about a lot. After all, many more ideas are generated over coffee than at a desk, and this is reinforced by the fact that the kitchen table is one of the main dominant features here, resembling two joined carpentry trestles.
Festool on Ahrend
“The collaboration with Ahrend and their representative was exemplary. After the initial consultation, the architect proposed a thematic and industrial design that impressed our demanding boss right from the first draft. The office was designed and furnished practically and modernly, positively impacting our colleagues to the extent that they are giving up the option of working from home and are happy to meet in this office. Despite being an open space, very pleasant corners were created for individual meetings and relaxation purposes. Additionally, acoustic elements were used that work excellently, ensuring we do not disturb each other while working. The office furnishings are ergonomic and were provided at very reasonable prices. The kitchen has become an oasis of calm and a pleasant space for meetings or celebrations over coffee and snacks.
Any problems or comments were immediately addressed by Ahrend, and our satisfaction with the company is rated 100 out of 100. Our parent company in Germany organizes tours to visit us, envying the spaces that even they do not have.
In the future, we plan to expand our offices and will entrust this project solely to Ahrend.”
