Doctors Without Borders Prague

Ahrend delivered a complete workplace solution for Doctors Without Borders in Prague, an international humanitarian organisation that provides medical aid worldwide. The project focused on creating a comfortable, functional and sustainable working environment for 70 employees. By combining ergonomic solutions with a well-thought-out spatial design, we support their mission with a working environment that promotes well-being, concentration and collaboration.

Care without borders

Doctors Without Borders is an international, independent medical humanitarian organisation that operates in more than 70 countries. For more than 50 years, it has been providing life-saving aid to people affected by conflicts, epidemics and natural disasters. With a global network of more than 67,000 professionals, they deliver neutral and impartial care where it is needed most.

From initial idea to shared vision

Through CBRE Turner & Townsend PJM Czech Republic, a collaboration emerged that went beyond the original request for refurbished furniture. The project evolved into an integrated workplace solution, through which we worked closely with all stakeholders to create a future-proof work environment. The result is a workspace that seamlessly combines sustainability, ergonomics, and user comfort, fully aligned with the principles of Vitalising Workspaces.

Designed for focus and well-being

We delivered a complete workplace environment, including workstations, meeting rooms and social areas, such as break out and relaxation spaces. To facilitate focused work and provide privacy when needed, five Ahrend Qabin Call acoustic pods were installed, each equipped with an Ahrend Swaye balance stool. Height-adjustable desks and ergonomic task chairs further support healthy and active working practices. The result is a flexible, comfortable and future-proof workplace that responds effectively to the diverse needs of employees.

A carefully supervised process

The project was delivered through a three-phase tender process and completed within approximately five months, encompassing design, production and implementation. Despite logistical and scheduling challenges around the holiday period, the project was delivered on schedule. The result is a thoughtfully designed workplace environment where functionality, sustainability and user experience work together seamlessly.
