O2
O2 is the largest mobile operator in the Czech market and a major employer. They opted for a radical transformation of the head office in the iconic GAMA building in Prague. Together with room.411.architects and Ahrend, an ambitious goal was achieved: an inspiring working environment that stimulates collaboration and creativity and takes the daily comfort of employees to a higher level.
Openness versus intimacy
The open-plan office layout promotes collaboration and transparency. The big advantage is that it brings people together. Ideas can flow freely through the space without the barriers of walls. To ensure privacy, reduce ambient noise levels and limit distractions, acoustic boxes were installed. The Ahrend Qabins offer excellent ventilation. A specially designed system circulates the air so that the indoor climate is continuously refreshed. The Qabins are designed with a capacity for one to four people to call and meet.
Acoustics and sustainability
Acoustic panels made from recycled PET bottles, elegant partitions and natural materials such as wood create an aesthetic, sustainable environment. The interior exudes tranquillity with soft, natural tones – a place where business and well-being come together.
"The appearance of the interior has a huge influence on the human mind and its development. That's why we created a space that combines work and fun." explains Miroslav Brabec, project manager at O2.
‘We have created a space that combines work and pleasure’
Craftsmanship
Eye-catcher? A four-metre-long conference table in which wood in combination with the nano-technological material Fenix, come together. The synergy of precision, attention to detail and professionalism is reflected in the work of our carpenters. They have given this special table a personal touch and timeless look.
Details and figures
This project was characterized by impressive figures. We supplied almost 70 kitchens and approximately 1,500 metal partition screens, which are a striking feature of the space. To separate the meeting rooms with glass walls from the surrounding open space, 25 kilometers of wooden slats were used.
