Last week, Eugène Sterken, CEO of Royal Ahrend, received the PSO stage 3 certificate from Yuri Starrenburg, Director of PSO-Nederland at the official presentation of the Ahrend subsidiary Presikhaaf Schoolmeubelen in Arnhem.
With the awarding Royal Ahrend and its subsidiaries Ahrend Nederland, Gispen Nederland and Presikhaaf Schoolmeubelen have received the recognition that they have grown into the position of official leaders in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility.
"Doing business in a socially responsible and committed way is anchored in our organisation," says Eugène Sterken, CEO of Royal Ahrend: "The certification on stage 3 makes us proud but also happy. Happy because we have acquired an excellent, distinctive market position with this quality label. As a company, we are also increasingly working with suppliers and partners who also demonstrate social entrepreneurship. Our clients also like to outsource their assignments to social companies. After all, they also have to comply with the 5% standard of the Quotum Act and can choose to have them filled in by a social enterprise like Ahrend.''
Royal Ahrend and its subsidiaries have around 200 employees with poor employment prospects. They work in the (dis) assembly of office and school furniture.
With the PSO ladder, organisations can show what efforts they make to give everyone a chance in our society. It is a measuring instrument annex quality mark of TNO that has become the national standard for social entrepreneurship. All types of organisations in the Netherlands, from multinational to neighborhood store, from law firm to work company can apply for this quality label. Presikhaaf Schoolmeubelen is the only company in the school furniture sector that is allowed to use the PSO stage 3 quality mark.
