Ahrend presented as an iconic brand in I amsterdam Store
Tomorrow, the I amsterdam Store will open its doors in the middle of the IJ-passage of the Amsterdam Central Station. The I amsterdam Store is the place to be for anyone who wants to be inspired by Amsterdam’s most beautiful and iconic brands and gather information about the hidden pearls that the Amsterdam is rich. The Store has a surface of 400m2 and is designed by Joachim Baan, Frank Hulsebosch and Sandenburg Concept Creations. The highlights of the Amsterdam metropolitan area are the guidance in their design concept.
Wall of icons
An eye catcher of the Store is the icon wall, in which all the icons of Amsterdam are displayed in the Amsterdam color red. The Ahrend Revolt, designed by Friso Kramer, obviously can’t stay away and has a prominent place on the wall.
BYBORRE & Ahrend Design
Escape from the crowded Amsterdam Central Station and relax on the Ahrend Loungescape that is upholstered with fabric created by the BYBORRE design studio. The result is a perfect example of how two leading Amsterdam brands have joined forces. Ahrend has been setting the tone in Dutch design for more than 100 years. Borre Akkersdijk, founder of BYBORRE, is an Amsterdam-based designer who, at such a young age, already has been awarded with the Young Designer Award. Characteristic to the BYBORRE label are the self-developed innovative knitting techniques that bring the digital and tactile worlds together.
