Eugène Sterken appointed CEO

Amsterdam, the Netherlands - Eugène Sterken has been appointed CEO of Koninklijke Ahrend NV starting from the 1st of June of this year.

Sterken will replace Joost Van Meerbeeck who will become CEO of Stonehaven, Ahrend’s only shareholder.

Sterken re-joined Ahrend end 2011 as Chief Commercial Officer, after having worked for Ahrend in several international positions from 1992 to 2005. In between Sterken was Managing Director for Lyreco in Germany. Joost Van Meerbeeck was a member of the supervisory board for several years before he was appointed CEO of Ahrend in 2011.

The position of CCO will not be re-filled so Ahrend’s Board will consist of four people. Eugene Sterken, CEO; Rolf Verspuij, CFO; Maarten Cornelissen, Supply Chain Director,  and Jiri Kejval, CEO of Ahrend’s Czech subsidiary, Techo.
