Climate action

For decades, we have been investing in the improvement of our production processes, resulting in reduced water and energy consumption. Efficient production also leads to less waste, which is better sorted for recycling.

For any company, it is easiest to first examine its own operations and production. Since 2018, we have been measuring the CO2 emissions from our own operations, referred to as scope 1 and 2 emissions. In 2023, we achieved our goal of reducing these emissions by 50% by 2025.

We are aware that the majority of our CO2 emissions, the scope 3 emissions, occur outside our company. This includes emissions from the production of the materials we purchase, as well as transport to our factories and customers. Therefore, in 2023, we signed the Net Zero commitment from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This reinforces our ambition to achieve net zero CO2 emissions in scopes 1, 2, and 3 by 2050. In the coming years, we will work even more closely with our suppliers to reduce those scope 3 emissions. In 2025, our submission will be assessed by SBTi, and then our approved reduction targets for scope 3 will follow.
