Ahrend Alvido wins iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 for outstanding product design

Amsterdam, 28 April 2026 – The Ahrend Alvido, designed by Marck Haans, Head of Design at Ahrend, has been awarded an iF DESIGN AWARD for Product Design. This globally renowned award is a mark of quality for outstanding design. The award was presented on 27 April at the Winners’ Gala at the Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin, Germany.

The Ahrend Alvido is a modular storage system that combines functionality, flexibility and timeless design. It serves as an elegant room divider, practical storage unit and stylish display wall. The refined steel frame, with wooden accents and virtually invisible joints, creates a sleek, architectural look.

Ahrend Alvido has been developed in line with our circular design strategy and ecodesign principles, with the aim of supporting multiple life cycles. The modular design allows all components to be easily separated, making them simple to repair, replace, reuse and recycle. In this way, we extend the lifespan of both the cabinets and the materials used. The patented coupling system enhances sustainability and simplifies future reuse and recycling, while delivery in flat packs reduces CO₂ emissions during transport.

The iF DESIGN AWARD is considered one of the most prestigious international awards in the field of design. Since 1954, the iF label has been awarded to designers who dare to deviate from the norm, redesign systems and transform everyday experiences into meaningful ones. Winning this award is recognition by an independent jury of 129 leading international experts in design and sustainability. More than 10,000 entries from 68 countries were evaluated by the jury. All entries are judged on the basis of five updated criteria: idea, form, function, differentiation and sustainability.
